investing?

Does anyone have any opinions or good information to read on investing? I anticipate paying off our debts soon, and we are interested in investing for retirement purposes, and a savings account for emergencies. I don't know much about it, just what I have read online. Does anyone have any advice, or know of any good literature on the subject?

I don't know a lot, but the biggest thing to do is get out of debt (if you are in debt???) because that is what kills people is the interest on cars, student loans, credit cards, etc... Once you get old debts paid off, you can take that money and put it in a savings account...after a year or so of getting some money saved start investing. It doesn't hurt to get an appointment and go in somewhere and get ideas. Sometimes your work will have investments, stocks, or whatever that are good to do.
